The course of translation theory is an integral part of the block of special disciplines in the system of professional training of translators. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the history of translation activities, with the main concepts used to describe the translation process, with the problems and provisions of general and private theories of translation, as well as with the main translation concepts, considering the features of the translation process and the criteria for assessing the quality of translation. The aim of the course is also to explore ways to solve various translation problems and justify the use of translation techniques to achieve the necessary adequacy of translation.
